Our Firm has an opening for a Staff Accountant (Supervisor), Assurance to join our team. The Position Detailsare as follows: * Status: Full-time, permanent * Office Location: Burlington, ON * Salary Range: $92,500.00 – $103,000.00 * Additional Compensation Info: 5% Target Bonus * Reason for Hire: Replacement Reporting to Partners, Principals, and Managers, you will be responsible for: * Independently preparing working papers and financial statements for Review and Compilation Engagements, including complex files with minimal guidance; * Planning and completing Review Engagements, including planning documentation, time budgets, checklists, disclosures, and year-end correspondence; * Acting as an in-charge on audit engagements by coordinating workflow, monitoring budgets, and ensuring timely file completion; * Preparing complex sections of Audit Engagements and identifying significant audit or accounting issues for discussion with senior team members; * Developing and proposing practical solutions to accounting, audit, and tax matters as they arise; * Preparing level 3–4 corporate and personal tax returns, including review of related tax slips and filings; * Conducting thorough self-reviews of working papers and financial statements prior to submission for review; * Delegating work to junior staff, providing appropriate supervision, and ensuring procedures are completed accurately; * Coaching and supporting staff development, including providing feedback and performance input as appropriate; and * Additional responsibilities as required to support Firm objectives. The ideal candidate will have: * Graduate of a University Accounting Program, or equivalent; * Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation; * 1-2 years post-designation experience in a public accounting firm; * Thorough understanding of GAAP/GAAS, ASPE, CAS and CIS; and * Experience using Microsoft Office, CaseWare, CaseView, Doc.It, and Taxprep.
